Blog Post Images (12)

Quick answer

Yes. My Dream Flooring offers pay weekly and pay monthly laminate flooring with no credit check, so a poor or limited credit history won’t stop you. Instead of a credit search, we ask for proof of income, such as a recent payslip or benefits statement, to make sure the payments are affordable. Plans are interest free, spread over 36 weeks, start from £10 a week and go up to £1,500 credit. Free underlay and beading are included, and the full price, including the fitting cost, is given upfront at your free home visit. Fitting is paid separately on the day. We cover the North East, Yorkshire & Humber, the Midlands & Cheshire, the North West and Scotland.

How does pay weekly laminate flooring work?

It takes four steps, and you don’t need to visit a showroom.

  1. Book a free home visit. Your local rep brings our laminate, carpet and vinyl samples to your home, so you can see them in your own light.
  2. Get your price on the day. Your rep measures up and gives you the full price, including the fitting cost, before you commit to anything.
  3. Pay £40 per room to get started. Then pay weekly or monthly over 36 weeks, interest free.
  4. Get it fitted. Once you’ve paid 20% of your balance, your laminate is usually fitted within 3 weeks.

Should I pay weekly or pay monthly for laminate?

The total cost is the same either way, because there’s no interest on our plans. The right choice depends on when you get paid. If you’re paid weekly, weekly payments keep things simple. If you’re on Universal Credit or a monthly salary, a monthly payment may be easier to budget around. Your rep can set up whichever suits you, and our guide to pay monthly flooring with no credit check explains the monthly option in more detail.

Why doesn’t bad credit stop you getting laminate flooring?

Most flooring finance is arranged through an outside lender, who searches your credit file before deciding and usually charges interest. That’s why so many people with missed payments or no credit history get turned down.

Our plans are handled in-house, with no outside lender involved. We don’t search your credit file. Instead we look at your income and what you can comfortably afford each week. Benefits count as income, and we work with customers on Universal Credit, PIP, ESA and other benefits. Our guide to new floors without the credit check covers this in more detail.

How much does laminate flooring cost?

Across the UK, a typical 15 to 20 m² room costs roughly £400 to £900 supplied and fitted, depending on the quality of the boards and the shape of the room. Prices in London and the South East tend to be higher.

With us, most customers pay between £15 and £50 a week, depending on the laminate they choose and the size of their rooms. With up to £1,500 credit, most people can do between one and three rooms in one go.

What laminate can I get on a payment plan?

Every style in our range is available on a pay weekly or pay monthly plan. We stock 13 wood-effect laminates, from light tones like Glacier Everest Oak to darker finishes like Charcoal Toros Oak and Rich Rosso Walnut.

Our laminate is part of the Zero Mission range, made without harmful substances. At 8mm thick, it’s built for busy homes, with an abrasion-resistant, easy-clean surface, UV resistance to stop fading, and it’s suitable for homes with pets and children. It works well in hallways, kitchens and living rooms, where carpet would struggle.

Every laminate order comes with free underlay and beading, so the finishing touches are already included in your price.

How does My Dream Flooring compare to other pay weekly companies?

Many pay weekly flooring companies cap new customers at around £600 to £800 of credit. We offer up to £1,500 interest free, which means you’re not limited to a single room.

Underlay and beading are included, and the fitting cost is given to you upfront at your first appointment, so there’s nothing added later. See the full comparison on our Why Choose Us page.

What do I need to do before my laminate is fitted?

A bit of preparation makes fitting day quicker.

  • Clear the room of furniture before your fitter arrives, unless you’ve agreed otherwise with your rep.
  • Lift your old flooring. Removing and disposing of your old carpet or flooring isn’t included in our plans, so it needs to be cleared beforehand.
  • Ask about your subfloor at the visit. Laminate needs a flat, level surface underneath, so if you’re unsure about yours, mention it to your rep.

Most fittings take around half a day, depending on the number of rooms. The fitting cost is paid separately, direct to your fitter on the day.

FAQs

Will a pay weekly laminate plan affect my credit score?

No. We don’t run a credit check, so no credit search is recorded on your file when you apply.

Can I get laminate flooring on Universal Credit?

Yes. Being on benefits doesn’t affect your eligibility. We just ask for a recent benefits statement as proof of income. See our guide on getting new flooring on benefits for grants and support worth checking too.

Is fitting included in the plan?

No. Your rep gives you the fitting cost upfront at your home visit, and it’s paid separately, direct to your fitter on the day. It isn’t added to your weekly or monthly payments.

Is there any interest on the plan?

No. All our plans are 0% interest, so the price you’re quoted is the price you pay.

What if I miss a payment?

Get in touch as soon as you can on 0800 246 1556. We’ll always try to work with you to find a solution first. More answers are on our FAQs page.
